Zion and Grand Canyon National Park — 8-Day Self-Guided Motorcycle Tour

Ride a 1,115-mile loop from Las Vegas through Utah, Arizona, and California, linking Zion National Park, Page and Lake Powell, the Grand Canyon South Rim, historic Route 66, Laughlin, the Mojave Desert, and Death Valley. The itinerary includes six riding days, seven nights, and arrival and departure time in Las Vegas.

Begin with a 200-mile ride from Las Vegas to Springdale at the entrance to Zion National Park. Towering sandstone walls, canyon roads, and the Virgin River corridor introduce the red-rock landscapes that define the first half of the tour.

Continue from Springdale toward Page, crossing the high desert and Grand Staircase-Escalante region before reaching Lake Powell. The next 190-mile stage follows the Grand Canyon’s South Rim and finishes in Williams, a historic Route 66 town and gateway to the canyon.

From Williams, ride approximately 190 miles west on historic Route 66 through Seligman and Kingman to Laughlin on the Colorado River. The longest riding day covers roughly 295 miles from Laughlin through the Mojave into Death Valley, where salt flats, mineral-colored mountains, open desert, and below-sea-level terrain create a dramatic contrast with Zion and the Grand Canyon.

Complete the loop with a 120-mile return from Death Valley to Las Vegas. Daily riding distances range from 120 to 295 miles, balancing shorter national-park stages with one substantial desert crossing. The booklet lists temperatures around 50–90°F, but conditions can vary sharply with elevation and season.

Carry water, fuel before remote desert sections, download offline maps, monitor heat and wind, and reserve lodging near Zion, the Grand Canyon, and Death Valley early.

The itinerary forms a true loop rather than retracing the same roads. The outbound half moves northeast from Las Vegas into Utah and the Grand Canyon region; the return follows Route 66 west to the Colorado River, crosses the Mojave, and finishes through Death Valley. The overnight sequence also provides very different settings—Springdale’s canyon walls, Lake Powell’s high desert, Williams’ Route 66 character, Laughlin’s riverfront, and Furnace Creek’s desert basin.

This is a self-guided tour with no fixed group departure times. Booking the Experience includes a detailed tour booklet with the complete itinerary, daily mileage, route guidance, recommended stops, restaurants, lodging suggestions, rider information, and Google Maps navigation links.
