🏁 Leg 1: The Warmup & Market Stroll
We roll out from the office and push north, bypassing the tourist traffic to reach the brick-lined streets of historic Winter Garden. Our first destination is the Plant Street Market, home to Crooked Can Brewing Co. We'll park the bikes along the avenue and stretch our legs inside the massive brick marketplace. It’s an awesome spot to roam around, grab a premium coffee, sample artisanal local foods, and soak in the vibrant morning market energy.
🌳 Leg 2: Climbing to the Overlook
Leaving Winter Garden, the terrain begins to shift. We catch the sweeping asphalt of the Green Mountain Scenic Byway, leaning into gentle curves as we climb toward the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook. We’ll take a quick break here to stroll out onto the 100-yard elevated wooden boardwalk. From the observation tower, you'll get a breathtaking, panoramic view of Lake Apopka stretching all the way to the distant Orlando skyline.
🎢 Leg 3: Conquering the Mountain & Lakeside Sweepers
Get ready for a roller-coaster surprise. From the overlook, we head north to conquer Sugarloaf MountainRoad from north to south. Cresting at a blind peak 312 feet above sea level, the road plunges down Florida's absolute steepest paved grade into a sweeping, technical bend. From there, we track the scenic edge of the water up to the quiet, historic shores of Howey-in-the-Hills. We'll park right at Griffin Park on Lake Harris and grab a cold treat at B&B Ice Cream and Candy—a legendary, rider-friendly roadside oasis.
🌊 Leg 4: Waterfront Oasis at the Salt Shack
We point the front wheels southwest, carving through the rolling clay hills, orange groves, and quiet country bypasses of Lake County. We’ll drop straight down into downtown Clermont, parking right on the edge of Lake Minneola at Salt Shack on the Lake. Expect incredible Caribbean-infused island vibes, open-air breezes, and a phenomenal lakeside meal to celebrate the peak of the ride.
🌅 Leg 5: The Sunset Cruise Home
We cap off the day by avoiding the monotonous highways. We’ll cut south on the scenic, winding rural backroads of south Lake and Polk counties, watching the landscape soften as we hit Ronald Reagan Parkway. It’s a smooth, flowing, and deeply satisfying cruise to wrap up the loop and bring us right back to the launchpad in Kissimmee.
