For Riders

Third Party Liability Coverage

Included at no cost for every rider is liability coverage for up to the State Required Minimum Limits. This covers the minimum liability required by law for the state where you are picking up your vehicle.

Rider Liability Coverage

Your legal responsibility for damage to third party property caused during the rental.
Your legal responsibility for bodily injury to third party rental caused during the rental.

Rider Liability Coverage Doesn’t Include

Damage or injury resulting from something done intentionally or in violation of Riders Share Terms
Bodily Injury to you or one of your designated passengers
For example, bookings in California include the following liability insurance coverage:
$15,000 for injury/death to one person.
$30,000 for injury/death to more than one person.
$5,000 for damage to property.

Vehicle Damage Protection

We know you will treat the motorcycle like it’s your own, but accidents can happen. By selecting a Damage Waiver you will only be responsible for up to the deductible amount and Riders Share covers the rest up to a class leading $30,000 per motorcycle.

We strive to give the most affordable physical damage protection we can so deductible amounts are calculated at the time of booking based in part on the motorcycle value and number of rental days.

Roadside Assistance

If you purchase Roadside Assistance Riders Share will cover the full cost of any tow and tire replacement.

For Owners

Share your motorcycle with confidence. Your motorcycle is covered for up to $30,000 of physical damage from Riders Share and every owner has access to up to $1,000,000 coverage of third-party liability insurance through our third party carrier.

Riders Share is working to build a trusted and friendly community of motorcyclists to share not just motorcycles but our passion. We take extensive measures to help make the riders share community safe, respectful, and responsible.

Rider Vetting

We look at a total of 100 different data points to vet riders. We also require that every renter meet the following requirements:

Be 21 or older.
Validate their phone number and email address.
Check out with a credit card.
Has a valid motorcycle license (or equivalent).
We do not accept temporary licenses unless Riders have a prior license, or proof of past riding history.
Zero Tolerance for Prohibited Activities.

Renter communications
Account and payment assistance
Filing a claim
Roadside assistance and vehicle recovery

Claims Process

Accidents happen. Nevertheless we strive to make getting your bike back on the road simple, streamlined, and comprehensive.

1. File a claim
If an owner motorcycle is damaged or reported stolen, owners can quickly file a claim on the respective booking.

2. Adjuster reviews claim
After Filing a Claim, an adjuster on behalf of Riders Share or our third party administrator will get in touch to discuss the claim and gather information.

3. The claim is investigated
The in-house claims adjuster or third-party claims adjuster will settle the claim in accordance with the Riders Share Terms of Service , applicable laws and regulations.
