For over 20 years, the Teddy Bear Run has successfully collected thousands upon thousands of teddy bears for hospitalized children. Beginning in Bend, Oregon (approximately three hours from Portland), attendees will have the opportunity to travel to Redmond for a quick ride to bond with other members of the biker community. What better way to spend the day than by making new rider friends while also performing an act of community service?

December, 2023

Portland, Oregon

This annual toy run is dedicated to helping hospitalized children in need—and just in time to get into that holiday spirit! For nearly 40 years, this amazing toy run has raised thousands of dollars and even more toys for the Shriners Hospital for Children. What’s better than riding your motorcycle with like-minded riders while helping out kids, too?

4. Bikers for Dogs Poker Run

August, 2023

Portland, Oregon

If you happen to be a motorcyclist who adores dogs, then this event is for you! Held every August, the Bikers for Dogs Poker Run aims to raise money for several local no-kill dog shelters.

For reference: about 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed in shelters every year in America. Fortunately, thanks to events like these, that number is becoming smaller. In fact, Delaware recently became the nation’s first no-kill state.

There will be plenty of motorcycle riding and dog-petting as entertainment. This is a wonderful event, one where you not only ride, but help animals in need.

5. Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally

Bakers City, Oregon

Editor’s note: the annual Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally is currently paused due to gathering restrictions. Get the latest updates on the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally Facebook page.

The Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally is one of the biggest motorcycle events in Oregon—you’ll find no shortage of entertainment. There’ll be a “bikers’ breakfast” every morning and nearly endless amounts of riding (including biking courses for beginners). Of course, live music, dancing, beer, raffles, and huge prizes are all on the agenda as well. This is one motorcycle event you definitely don’t want to sleep through!

Because would-be attendees are already snatching up hotel rooms by the dozens, the Hells Canyon Motorcycle Rally hosts a camping site at Baker High School.

It was not held in 2022, and we hope it is back for 2023!
