Everyone knows Philadelphia is the City of Brotherly Love. What better way to express this sentiment than by finding your brothers-on-bikes and riding for a patriotic or charitable cause? These events aren’t only for locals—they’re for anyone with a motorcycle. In need of a motorcycle rental? We can help. Don't forget your protective riding gear either. If you’re in Philly, consider these five nearby events.

1. 16th Annual Philly’s Fallen Heroes Memorial Motorcycle Ride

TBD

11 am

Phila FOP Lodge 5

11630 Caroline Road

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19154

The 16th Annual Philly’s Fallen Heroes Memorial Motorcycle Ride welcomes bikers and pedestrians to help raise money for the families of police officers killed in the line of duty. This ride starts in Philly and ends 90 miles away at the Wharf in Wildwood, New Jersey.

You’ll enjoy a full police escort for the duration of the ride, and the $20 event registration includes lunch and drinks, so don’t come on a full stomach. All proceeds from this event will go to a police survivor’s fund.

It is unclear if it is taking place again this year, so check the website often.

2. Covered Bridge Poker Run

June 4, 2023

9 am

Brian’s Harley-Davidson

600 South Flowers Mill Road

Langhorne, Pennsylvania 19047

The Covered Bridge Poker Run begins at Brian’s Harley-Davidson in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make the short 30-minute jaunt over from Philadelphia to experience some of the state’s most iconic architectural.

All bikes and all bikers are welcome to get a taste of Pennsylvania’s historic covered bridges—12 alone lie in Bucks County, the location of this event. In fact, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has an estimated 200 covered bridges, the most covered bridges in all of the United States.

On this ride, you’ll not only get to experience the sound of a bike revving up its engine in a covered bridge—you’ll also get a pre-planned route map, pin (while supplies last), and access to an after-party back at Brian’s Harley-Davidson. Aside from the live music and catered lunch, there’ll also be a variety of drawings and prizes.

3. Rolling Badges LEMC Toy Run and Blessings of Bikes

Typically in July

9 am

RBLEMC Clubhouse

929 Edgewater Ave.

Westville, New Jersey

The Rolling Badges LEMC Toy Run and 8th Annual Blessings of Bikes is the perfect opportunity to donate a used toy for kids in need.

Registration begins at 9 am at which point there will be a ceremonial “blessing of the bikes.” After the blessing, you’ll ride with a police escort to CHOP at Virtua Voorhees and the Voorhees Pediatric Facility in Voorhees Township, New Jersey (only a 20-minute drive away). After this, you’ll leave Voorhees Township for the RBLEMC Club House in Westville, New Jersey, 75 miles (or about an hour-and-a-half) away. Here you’ll be served some delicious BBQ. A DJ and silent auction will provide further excitement.
