TRIUMPH SPEED TRIPLE R ABS 2014

5 tripsExcellent 5/5

In 1994, Triumph created an icon: the Speed Triple, one of the first and most successful naked bikes in history. Twenty years later, they distilled the essence of the Speed Triple into a track weapon featuring Ohlins suspension, lightweight wheels, Brembo brakes, and carbon fiber bits.

The 2014 Speed Triple 1050 R is one of the last true analog motorcycles, featuring cable-operated throttle and clutch, analog tachometer, no quick shifter, no slipper clutch and no rider aids aside from ABS. The result is a modern motorcycle that brings out your inner hooligan.

The Speed Triple 1050 R is right at home on the track, in the twisties, or on a commute. Refined enough for daily use but ready for the next track day, it offers a thrilling ride regardless of speed or lean angle. Hinkley have added a dynamic new dimension to the hugely popular Speed Triple, turning the feisty street-fighter into to a hugely competent trackday tool.

This bike has been fitted with clip-on handlebars for a more forward riding position than stock that really makes you feel one with the machine. Dealer-installed Arrow 3-into-1 exhaust enhance the wonderful triple symphony without being obnoxious. And a Quad Lock handlebar holder provides easy visibility to your phone (renter will need their own mating Quad Lock piece).

With its iconic twin-headlight front and triple engine, the Speed Triple is the quintessential super naked, a motorcycle that should be on every rider’s bucket list.
