The 652cc Boulevard is an unintimidating first big bike. With timeless styling, light weight, ultra low seat height (particularly appealing to women and shorter riders), easy handling, and an absolute gem of an engine, the S40 Boulevard was the ‘go to’ first big bike for two generations of riders who wanted easy manners from a cruiser. It is a full featured, classically styled cruiser with a stout, torque-happy engine combined with a modern, twin-shock chassis. Yet it's is low to the ground and rides at just 360 pounds. All S40s were purpose-built, air-cooled, belt drive single overhead camshaft engines making 31 horsepower. At 60 mph the engine is spinning at a moderate 3940RPM. The S40 was also Suzuki's most successful and thus long-lived motorcycle. Combining under stressed performance, rock solid reliability, timeless styling, and low weight, the S40 remained the best of the entry class of cruiser for 33 years, before it finally went off sale in 2019!
