Off-Road Use Policy (Please Read Before Booking)

This DR-Z 400S is approved for Full Off-Road use under the Riders Share Off-Road Waiver. Off-road riding is limited to legal, designated OHV trails and forest-service roads only — no motocross tracks, jumps, dunes, or private land without permission. If you are riding on any surface other than concrete or pavement, you must select the "Off-Road" option for your rental (included in this--but not limited to--is the Apache Trail).

Off-Road Surcharge

• Off-road surcharge applies.
• Enables use on legal off-highway trails and dirt roads.
• You keep full coverage under the selected protection plan for major damage; owner retains the right to charge for excessive wear.

Wear & Tear Expectations

Normal off-road scuffs and dust are expected. However, the following are not considered normal wear and will be charged at repair/replacement cost (labor + parts + materials):

Body/Plastics:

Example: Cracked or broken fenders, side panels, headlight shrouds

Cost: $40 – $120 each

Controls:

Example: Bent levers, bars, mirrors

$20 – $90 each

Mechanical Damage:

Example: Dented rims, damaged chain guides, stripped bolts, broken mounts

Cost: Actual repair cost

Negligence / Abuse

Example: Deep scratches in frame, crashed components, engine or subframe damage

Estimate + shop labor

Cleaning Fee

Excessive mud or unreturned bike in unsafe condition

Cost: $25 – $60

Riders Share’s insurance does not cover cosmetic wear under Full Off-Road; renters are responsible for any damage beyond reasonable trail use.

Before & After Inspection

The bike’s condition is photographed before and after each rental. Renters are encouraged to take their own photos for transparency. All damages are handled fairly with receipts provided.
