Every spring, Panama City Beach turns into one of the most packed motorcycle destinations on the Gulf Coast. The Thunder Beach Spring Rally comes back for its 28th year running April 29 through May 3, 2026, with five full days of bike shows, live music, 200+ vendors, factory demo rides, stunt shows, and some of the best coastal riding in Florida spread across seven venues throughout PCB.

The best part? The whole thing is free. No gate fees, no admission charges, free parking at every venue. That's been the deal since day one, and it's how Thunder Beach built its reputation as the "Most Biker Friendly FREE Rally in the USA."

Below, we'll walk through what to expect at this year's Thunder Beach motorcycle rally, from the full schedule and venue breakdown to local rides and how to get set up if you're coming in from out of town.

When Is Thunder Beach 2026?

The Thunder Beach dates for 2026 land Wednesday, April 29 through Sunday, May 3, right when the Panhandle weather is warm without the heavy humidity and afternoon storms that take over in June, so you're looking at low 80s and mostly dry skies all week. The fall edition, the 26th Annual Autumn Rally, is already set for October 21 through 25, 2026.

Is Thunder Beach Free?

Yes! The entire rally is free to attend across every official venue and partner venue, no wristbands, no day passes, nothing at the door. Some individual concerts at partner venues may carry a separate cost, but everything else from the bike shows to the vendor villages to parking has been no-charge since the rally started.

Where Is Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally?

The Panama City Beach motorcycle rally is spread across four official venues and three partner venues throughout PCB, which is part of what makes the whole week feel like more than just a rally. You're riding between spots, checking out different stretches of the beach, and each location brings its own thing to the table.

Don’t Miss out on This Year’s Miss Thunder Beach Pageant

One of the rally's longest-running traditions, held all week at Hammerhead Fred's:

  • Wednesday: 1st Preliminary (7 p.m.)
  • Thursday: 2nd Preliminary (7 p.m.)
  • Friday: 3rd Preliminary (7 p.m.)
  • Saturday: Contest (2 p.m.), Finals (7 p.m.)

The pageant runs throughout the entire rally, with contestants competing across multiple preliminary rounds before the finals on Saturday night. It's become one of the most attended events at Hammerhead Fred's each year, and with Buck Wild playing right after, the venue stays packed from the afternoon contest straight through midnight.

Factory Demo Rides at Thunder Beach 2026

Both Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle have brought demo fleets to Thunder Beach in the past, and the spring rally has typically offered free test rides on current-year models. Indian's Riding Experience team has specifically listed Thunder Beach as a demo destination with rides along the Gulf Coast, which is a pretty hard backdrop to beat for a test ride.

  • Free to ride on real coastal roads, not a parking lot loop
  • Valid motorcycle license and proper gear required
  • Lines build throughout the day, so getting there early is the move

So, Is Thunder Beach Worth Going To?

If you've been going back and forth on whether to make the trip, here's what you're working with: five days of free events, 200+ vendors, nationally recognized bike shows like the Urban Rides All-Cycle Showdown, factory demo rides from Harley and Indian, live music across multiple venues every day, and over 25 miles of Gulf Coast beach roads to ride between all of it. Restaurants and bars run rally-week specials, the whole town leans into it, and you're not paying $30 just to walk through a gate. For a Florida motorcycle event that costs nothing to attend, Thunder Beach puts up more than most rallies charging double.

Where to Ride During the PCB Bike Rally

The riding around PCB is a big part of what keeps people coming back year after year. Panama City Beach sits along Florida's Gulf Coast with over 25 miles of beach roads, and the routes beyond the rally venues are just as good as anything happening inside them.

  • Front Beach Road: The main cruise through PCB with waterfront views the whole way, and the kind of ride where the destination doesn't really matter because the road handles that for you
  • Highway 30A: About 25 miles one way through small beach towns like Seaside and Grayton Beach, with dune lakes, canopied coastal roads, and plenty of stops along the way
  • Highway 98 West to Destin: Roughly 50 miles with marinas, restaurants, and a busy waterfront waiting at the other end
  • Highway 98 East to Mexico Beach: About 45 miles of quiet, open shoreline riding that's perfect for a morning run before the rally picks up

Late April in the Panhandle gives you warm weather without the brutal humidity that rolls in later in the summer, so the riding conditions are about as good as they get. If you want to build a longer trip around the rally, we put together a guide to unforgettable motorcycle rides in Florida that covers routes across the state.
