Myrtle Beach Bike Week got its start back in 1940 as a small gathering of riders along the South Carolina coast, and 87 years later, it's one of the largest motorcycle events in the country. The 2026 rallies bring over 600,000 riders to the Grand Strand across two events, with the Spring Rally running May 8 through 17 and the Fall Rally picking back up September 25 through October 4. In this blog, we'll cover the confirmed 2026 dates, where to stay, what the venue scene looks like, and how to line up a motorcycle rental in Myrtle Beach if you're flying in for the event.

When is Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2026?
- Spring Rally Myrtle Beach Bike Week: May 8 through May 17, 2026 (10 days)
- Fall Rally Myrtle Beach Bike Week: September 25 through October 4, 2026 (10 days)
What’s the Difference Between Spring and Fall Bike Week?
Myrtle Beach Bike Week’s Spring Rally event is the bigger of the two, bringing in around 400,000 people compared to roughly 200,000 for the fall. May lines up with the start of tourist season, so you're looking at more vendors, more live music, more bike shows, and noticeably heavier traffic on Ocean Boulevard and through Murrells Inlet.
The Fall Rally Myrtle Beach Bike Week is usually at the end of September when the temperatures cool off into the mid-70s, the crowds thin out, and the overall pace is more relaxed. You'll still find rides, vendors, entertainment, and the same venues running events, but it's easier to get around and you won't be fighting for parking at every stop. Both rallies are running a full 10 days in 2026, which is new for the fall since it's historically been closer to 7.

The Beaver Bar in Murrells Inlet
The Beaver Bar started as a food stand and has become a Bike Week staple with live music running throughout the day, $3 beers, vendor setups in the surrounding lot, and a crowd that stays from afternoon into the evening. It sits right off U.S. 17 Business in Murrells Inlet, making it an easy stop between rides.
The Rat Hole
The Rat Hole is a 15-acre venue on Socastee Boulevard with grassy fields and blacktop areas set up for gatherings, along with hot food and drinks served throughout the event. The open layout gives it more of a rally-ground feel compared to the bar-style venues closer to the coast.

Jamin' Leather is located at 1220 Port Drive in Myrtle Beach, near the airport and Market Commons area. During Bike Week, they host vendor setups, celebrity appearances, benefit rides, and daily leather auctions that typically kick off around 3 p.m. They also serve as one of the main vendor coordination points for the rally, with booth space available across multiple locations on the Grand Strand.
Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson
Located at 4710 South Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson runs Bike Week events including factory demo rides, tent sales, and rider meetups. In past years they've also partnered with nearby restaurants for kick-off parties and organized group rides along the coast.
NOTE: Outside of these anchor venues, bars, restaurants, and local businesses across Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Murrells Inlet run their own Bike Week events, including custom bike shows, live music, barbecues, and bike nights with rider specials. Where to Stay in Myrtle Beach for Bike Week
The official Myrtle Beach Bike Week site features lodging sponsors that welcome riders year-round, with reserved motorcycle and trailer parking, 24-hour security, and locations outside Myrtle Beach city limits. If you’re comparing those featured properties with other places to stay in the area, here’s how your options typically break down by budget.
Budget-Friendly (Under $100 per Night)
Motels and budget hotels along Ocean Boulevard and Highway 17 offer affordable rates with easy access to the rally. North Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach tend to run cheaper than the central Myrtle Beach strip while still putting you a short ride from everything. Look for biker-friendly properties with outdoor parking near your room.
Mid-Range ($100 to $200 per Night)
Oceanfront hotels and condo rentals in central Myrtle Beach hit a good balance between location and comfort, and many come with kitchenettes, pools, and beach access. Murrells Inlet is another option in this range that keeps you close to The Beaver Bar and the MarshWalk restaurant scene.
Premium ($200 and Up per Night)
Full-service resorts and vacation rentals along the Grand Strand come with amenities like spas, on-site dining, and ocean-view balconies. Pawleys Island and the south end of Myrtle Beach offer a quieter stay while keeping you within easy riding distance of the main events.
Camping and Vacation Rentals
For anyone bringing an RV or tent, Lakewood Camping Resort near Surfside Beach offers full hookup sites, tent camping, pools, and on-site dining, and it has been a go-to for Bike Week attendees for years. Renting a house or condo through Airbnb or Vrbo also works well for groups who want to split costs and have extra space to store gear.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2026 (FAQ)
At this point, it usually comes down to a few last details, so let’s run through the common questions riders ask every year.
Is Myrtle Beach Bike Week Still Happening
Yes: The Spring Rally runs May 8 through 17, and the Fall Rally runs September 25 through October 4, 2026.
Is Bike Week in Myrtle Beach free?
There's no general admission fee for Myrtle Beach Bike Week. You can ride the coast, visit vendors, and check out the bikes without a ticket. Some individual venues may charge a cover, but the rally itself is free and open to everyone.
Where do bikers hang out during Myrtle Beach Bike Week?
Suck Bang Blow, The Beaver Bar in Murrells Inlet, and The Rat Hole are the most popular stops. Ocean Boulevard in central Myrtle Beach and the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet are also consistent gathering points throughout both rallies.
What are the motorcycle laws in Myrtle Beach during Bike Week?
South Carolina requires helmets for riders and passengers under 21. If you're 21 or older, it's your call. Lane splitting is not legal, and speeding, noise, and open container laws are strictly enforced during Bike Week. If you're crossing into North Carolina for a day ride, helmets are required for all riders regardless of age.
Where can I park my motorcycle during Bike Week?
Most hotels along the Grand Strand have motorcycle parking, and major venues like Suck Bang Blow and The Beaver Bar have designated lots. The City of Myrtle Beach limits public spaces to two motorcycles per spot, and both need a valid parking stub if it's metered. Trailer parking is more limited and usually needs to be arranged in advance.
What Are the Best Rides Near Myrtle Beach During Bike Week
The Grand Strand sits in a good spot for day rides in either direction. Some of the most popular routes include:
- Ocean Boulevard and Highway 17 along the sixty-mile Grand Strand coastline from Little River to Georgetown
- Murrells Inlet to Pawleys Island along U.S. 17 Business, with optional stops at Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park
- Myrtle Beach to Charleston, SC (about 100 miles south), following the coast through historic plantation country and ending in downtown Charleston
- Myrtle Beach to Wilmington, NC (about 75 miles north), with a stop in Calabash for seafood and the Battleship North Carolina once you arrive
- Conway to Aynor via SC-319, a quieter inland route through small towns and wooded roads away from the beach traffic
When is the best time to go to Myrtle Beach Bike Week?
The Spring Rally is the bigger event with more vendors, more events, and a bigger crowd. The Fall Rally is smaller and more comfortable temperature-wise, with highs in the mid-70s instead of the mid-80s. If this is your first time, the spring event gives you the full experience.
