My renter is late, what should I do?

This article is intended for "Owners," or those who list their bikes with Riders Share.

If you're a renter, and the Owner you are renting from is late, call us at 657-200-5470.

If your renter is late for pickup:

  • Give them a call or send them a message to confirm when they will arrive.

  • Renters are allowed a one hour grace period from their scheduled start time before the reservation is canceled as a "no show" - per our policy, there are no refunds for this type of cancelation. Owners must submit check in to receive payment for no show cancelations!!

  • Even if your renter is late, try to accommodate their late check-in, if possible. You can charge a late fee using the Request Reimbursement option under the booking at the end of the rental.

If your renter is late for drop off:

  • Try calling them for an ETA - if they don't answer right away, don't panic, they're probably unable to answer if they're riding.

  • If the renter needs to extend the booking, either party can extend the rental within their account dashboard. Note: extensions can only be submitted while the reservation is still active. If the reservation has completed, contact Riders Share to extend.

  • You can charge a late fee using the Request Reimbursement option under the booking at the end of the rental. Late fees start at $50 - the form will calculate fees for you.

  • If you are unable to reach your renter within an hour or two of their scheduled drop off time, please notify Riders share by phone or email (see below). We also recommend contacting local authorities, such as highway patrol or county sheriff's office, to see if your vehicle may have been in an accident.

  • If your renter is very late, we may suggest filing a stolen vehicle report - although this is rarely necessary!
