How does insurance work for renters?
Tags:faqrenter- You may purchase a damage waiver at the time of checkout. Remember, most personal motorcycle policies won't cover motorcycle rentals.
Deposits:
- If you book a motorcycle more than 10 days in advance, we will authorize the deposit on your credit card and refund it immediately. Then, we will authorize it again 48 hours before the trip starts.
- If you book within 10 days of the trip start time, we will authorize the deposit right away in addition to the rental cost
- When you return the motorcycle undamaged, we refund the deposits 3 days later to give people time to file a claim. We authorize deposits instead of charging them, so your credit card company does not charge interest.
If there is an accident, we will charge part or all of the deposit.
Deposits vary depending on the risk. Sport bikes, younger people, people with collisions in their driving records for example are more likely to see higher deposits.
In case of accident:
- You have 72 hours to file a claim. The Owner may file it on your behalf if you are unable to do so.
- Seek medical attention if needed.
- Notify the police immediately.
- Obtain names, addresses, phone numbers (work, home) and license numbers of all persons involved, including passengers and witnesses.
- Obtain license plate number and state of equipment involved in the accident
- Take photos of accident and any damages to third party or other property damage
- When able, please use the 'Report Claim' link in the booking's profile to create a damage claim.
