What happens when I get a booking request?
Tags:faqownerWhen you get a booking request, you will receive the trip details and contact information of the renter. You may discuss the trip details and you will have the option to accept or decline the booking request at your convenience. Bear in mind, we have very strict requirements for renters so this should be more about your availability than vetting the renter!
After you approve the booking, at the time the trip starts you must:
- Check renters have a valid motorcycle license. If non-US, confirm they have their country's license. While we have vetted each renter, it's always good to double-check.
- Verify their identity matches the identity provided by Riders Share
- Make sure they are capable of riding the bike; familiar with operation and not inebriated.
- That they have either rented or have brought their own helmet.
If they fail to pass any of the above checks, do not hand over the bike. Kindly let them know that you are not comfortable releasing the bike to them at this point; notify us and you will still receive full payment. Each situation is different, but we value your gut feeling.
If they pass the checks:
- Give them a quick tour of the bike. Also, share any quirks that the bike might have; a choke, or particular theft deterrent.
- Document the bike condition before and after the trip using our check-in process. There is a sample checklist you can reference during the process.
- Hand over the keys and wish them a good ride! It gets a lot easier after the first time.
